Originally aged using Char 4 barrels, production took an unexpected turn when those barrels were no longer available. With no option to pause the process, Char 5 barrels, known for their deeper char and bolder influence, became the only path forward.
The result was something entirely its own.
Aging in Char 5 barrels brought forward deeper color, richer structure, and a more pronounced oak character, while maintaining the smooth, balanced profile Irons One is known for. The heavier char draws out intensified flavor and complexity, creating a bourbon that stands apart from anything released before.
Char 5 exists because of timing and circumstance, shaped by experience and trust in the craft. Once these barrels are gone, this exact expression cannot be recreated.
